# Truvo Platform API

> Auto, renters, and pet insurance quotes for partner platforms and AI agents. One request returns quotes from several carriers.

Base URL: https://api.truvo.com/v1
Authentication: `Authorization: Bearer <key>`. Live and sandbox keys are separate. The key decides the environment.
Revision: every REST API operation needs the header `Truvo-Version: 2026-09-26`. `/v1/mcp` and the discovery documents below don't.
MCP server: https://api.truvo.com/v1/mcp
Errors: every error is a JSON envelope with a stable `error.code`, a `request_id`, an `error.retry_action`, and an `error.doc_url` that links the docs page for the code. Every answer, success or error, carries a `Request-Id` header.

## When to use Truvo

- A business wants auto, renters, or pet insurance quotes inside its own product: call this API with a key. Sign up at the [portal](https://partners.truvo.com) and build in the sandbox right away, with no approval. Live keys come after a go-live call and approval.
- A person wants their own car, renters, or pet quotes from an AI app: connect the app to the MCP server, and the person signs in with Truvo. No key. Setup: https://www.truvo.com/truvo.md.
- One request returns quotes from several carriers. Each quote gives its status, the price, the coverage, the availability, the next actions, and the evidence.
